~400,000 Sudanese killed
14 million Sudanese displaced
2,500 Sudanese treated for sexual violence in Darfur
21 million Sudanese are acutely food insecure
20 million Sudanese requiring healthcare.
70-80% of hospitals destroyed.
Every 27 minutes, someone is killed in Sudan.
There has been no peace, no assistance, and no reprieve for Sudan and the millions of Sudanese that are caught in a proxy war of outside forces that have been destroying their country and committing genocide. Children have no access to school, medicine, healthcare, and little to no food. The one thing that does remain constant in Sudan is the violence that is unrelenting.
And yet the world still does nothing like it has for decades while the real parties behind the genocide (the UAE) are given a place of respect in the international community as the voice of the Sudanese is drowned out. Even in the peace talks taking place right now in Germany, Sudan is not given a seat at the table, but the UAE, the perpetrator of war crimes and atrocities, is at the table. As the UAE pays the US and other western powers for their silence and inaction, the horrors taking place in Sudan are swept under the rug and buried.
Funding has been cut to many organizations and Sudanese are starving and suffering while under constant threat of violence. If you can do anything today, please donate to Sudanese charities and personal fundraising campaigns, as well as international humanitarian organizations. The other thing that needs to be done is to keep talking about Sudan and sharing what is taking place. This world is awash in war and it will inevitably get worse, and as war spreads, the struggle in Sudan fades as war rages in new regions, but it is up to us to continue to bring to light what the genocide taking place in Sudan and that urgent need for a ceasefire and humanitarian aid.
What is taking place in Sudan is the worst humanitarian crisis on the planet but it does not receive the attention or action of a crisis this large.
