Hospitals are being shot at and bombed. IDF is shooting at healthcare workers and patients within hospitals.
Israel says to evacuate to the south but attack the corridor that refugees are traveling, killing innocent people.
Israel is threatening Lebanon with the same “treatment” Israel has attacked Gaza with.
Arab and Muslim nations held a summit on the crisis in Palestine, but nothing actionable was achieved from the summit.
Doctors, healthcare workers, and the UN have demanded for a ceasefire and to protect civilians seeking treatment and shelter within the hospitals to no avail.
France has finally called for a ceasefire and backed that up with voting for the UN resolutions protecting Palestinians and the state of Palestine
The General Assembly voted 145-7 in a resolution denouncing any Israeli construction or settlements within Gaza and Syria. There were many other resolutions that were passed for the protections of Palestinian people, their rights, their sovereignty, and their land.
The WHO General-Director says that “No where and no one is safe in Gaza.” He reiterates the demand for a ceasefire.
Where is the “humanitarian pause” that the US fought so hard for over a ceasefire? The death toll in Palestine is skyrocketing over this weekend all while this “gain” of a brief timeout in fighting but that is not set into motion. Where are the aid trucks the US touted? There is no water, food, fuel, or medicine for the disturbing amount of suffering that is elongated into something now of unceasing torture.
A joint summit was held with both the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Arab League which was unprecedented. While action was not taken, the fact that all of these nations met together and agreed on all humanitarian needs and a call for a ceasefire, demonstrated that they can work together. This unity should be a warning to the US that the Middle East can unite. What these nations should have done was to take greater steps toward holding Israel and the US accountable through sanctions and embargoes. They should have also set deadlines to hold both countries accountable. The summit was meaningful but lacked action.
Lebanon is under threat and that is another facet that should have been addressed in the Arab summit to protect Lebanon from Israeli aggression. Israel openly threatened Lebanon, stating that they will endure the same consequences that Gaza is suffering. This is not the first time that Israel has made aims toward taking Lebanon. Again, these actions of Israel make it evident that Israel is attempting to expand borders in both Palestine and Lebanon.
While leaders assess and discuss, more and more Palestinians are dying and suffering horrific conditions that are comparable to unending torture. Palestinians moving to the Rafah border are being attacked and killed, innocent Palestinians following the orders of the Israeli government are being massacred. Hospitals with babies in incubators are under fire and bombardment because Israel has stated that Hamas is tunneled underground, but have no proof or evidence. Two newborns have died because of the conditions. Patients are being shot in a hospital. This is evil on unheard levels. Israel and all countries that have supported their military siege of Gaza, is responsible for these atrocities.
What can be done? What actions can be taken to ensure and immediate ceasefire? These people are being subjected to horrors that no person should ever endure and have no safety or reprieve. World leaders must take true steps for humanity and give up their fear.
One nation does have the power to enact a ceasefire, but denies they have any sway or authority over Israel. The US government said thar Israel determines their own military choices independent from US oversight and input. All of the votes from the US in the UN support Israel and refutes the rights and humanitarian needs of Palestinians. If the US has no power over Israel as it claims, and feels Israel is breaking international law, then why can’t the US vote for Palestine and denounce the actions of Israel? This is the absolute, concrete evidence that the US and Israel are working together for the same goal- to destroy Palestine and commit genocide of the Palestinian people. Every resolution that sought to protect or aid Palestinians, the US voted against.
Actions matter more than words. The US has only acted in support of the Israeli war crimes and genocide of innocent Palestinians. The US spreads the same lies and misinformation from the Israeli government and attacks anyone who questions the information. The US sends a massive military aid package of 14 billion dollars. The US positions air craft carriers, war ships, and a nuclear submarine in the region to support Israel. The US votes against all aid and protections for Palestinians. It is both obvious where the US stands and that is for the elimination of Palestine.
This is the “democracy” that fought in WWII against genocide. This is clearly not the same country and has moved so far from the capability of protecting humanity that the US assists and funds a genocide.
The WHO Director-General said that no one is safe in Gaza, and that reality extends beyond the borders of Gaza to include the world. No one on this earth is safe with the lack of humanity rampant across elected officials worldwide. The Palestinians suffer horribly while leaders can do more but refuse, which then puts the safety of everyone in question if leaders do nothing in the face of genocide. No one is safe.
Over 11,000 innocent Palestinians have died. Each death is one death too many.
From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.
